I sort of came up with it, though I doubt I invented it
cut up some bacon, about two strips per chicken breast, and cook it in a frying pan.

Once it's fully cooked, but not overly cooked, pull it from the pan. Throw in your chicken breasts. I always filet them, so that I have a nice flat side on one side. Let the chicken cook until almost fully cooked throughout. Pull from the frying pan and place in a cake pan. Smother them in you favorite bbq sauce. (I use sweet baby Ray's, but you can use whatever)

throw the chopped fresh mushrooms, green onions, minced garlic, and bacon into the same frying pan and cook them until the mushrooms are cooked through. And the bacon is now crisp. Spoon out onto the chicken in the cake pan. Spread evenly, cover in cheese. Place in 350° oven for 10 minutes to finish the chicken and melt the cheese.
