The one thing I remember about my daughter's diagnosis - quick and obvious.
I am so used to doctor's requiring additional testing, maybe 2nd opinions, could be this or that, etc. But with Type 1 - it was a quick test at the ER, and the doctor came back with the very quick, definitive diagnosis. I asked if there was a need for additional testing, could it be anything else, and I was told nope, this is what it is. Just so strange for me given past medical experiences. Granted, they did do additional lab work over the next week or so, but there was no confusing the test results with the original diagnosis. It is what it is, nothing else, and it was a quick determination.
