game conference model, I would assume BYU would play non conference games against 1 P5, 1 G5 and 1 FCS.

So Utah State can fit that mold as the G5 we play. But do we really want to be playing the same G5 every year? Especially a G5 that will likely demand we come to their place at least 40% of the time?

Why do that when we could find a number of G5’s, across the country (great for recruiting by the way) that would be fine with 2 for 1’s or even 3 for 1’s.

The game is a lot more beneficial for USU than us. Why continue to prop up an in-state team? So the series cancellation makes complete sense to me.

I’d be fine with scheduling one off games with USU like every 4 or so years. But no need for anything more than that.
