Always shop around for the lowest cash price. It has been rare for us when cash
isn't cheaper than the insurance. There was a group of doctors in SLC who charged $50 cash for most visits when my insurance (I work for an insurance company) charged $279 for their in-network provider visits. Our prescription cash price at Walmart or Costco is 1/3 the insurance. The only time we've used insurance has been for annual checkups paid for by insurance.

We have a high-deductible plan whose premiums are near net zero. The deductible will be met for hopefully pregnancies or, God forbid, serious injuries or illnesses.

I might start a thread explaining the high-cost issue and each player's part - the provider, the payer, and the government. The only time government was on your side was when Trump wanted legislation to force caregivers to reveal their true costs so competition could play a bigger part in the pricing. Of course that failed.

I hope your MRI results are accurate and show nothing of concern.
