Drove a Tesla for the first time over the weekend. I had to go on a short
notice work related trip to Socal and decided to go through Turo and saw a guy close to my house with a Model Y so I decided to go for it.

So, from a tech standpoint, it's obviously got all the bells and whistles. It feels like you are driving an iPhone. I think for the most part everything is pretty intuitive and user friendly. Only two real complaints - 1. I don't like how the blinker doesn't pull all the way down like it does in a normal car, but that's a minor complaint. 2. I don't like the autopilot nag with holding the steering wheel. The worst part is if it happens enough times, you get put in jail and it disables autopilot completely until you turn off and restart the car.

In terms of the vehicle itself, the fast acceleration is very nice, but at the same time, I don't like the immediate braking when you take your foot off the accelerator and don't have the coasting that you have in a gas engine. My only other complaint is there is just something about not having the rumble of a combustion engine that I don't like. It feels like you are driving a wind up toy. Oh, one other thing, the seating was also very comfortable.

All in all, they are very nice and well made. Just very different. I'm sure like anything, I would get used to it.

Given what gas prices have been, I thought about getting one as a family car, but the pricing for a new one is crazy, so not sure I could justify the cost.
