In a high school English class, we were studying various forms of humor,
including Boners. We were supposed to find some in various media sources. One of the guys, quite innocently, commented, "I got my Boners from Boy's Life!" (Boy's Life Magazine used to have jokes toward the end of the magazine.)
To the millenials - "magazines" are colorful printed booklets that used to be sent out by subscription every month on various subjects. "Boy's Life" was the official Boy Scouts magazine.
