She likes to play goalie, and she's okay, but not great at it. But she's pretty smart, which is like half the battle at that age. But, as with young girls' teams, there are a couple teams that just have some girls that are way more athletic and older, and they ran into one of those teams last fall. Team was just crushing them, and she got scored on like 6 times in a half. Never prouder of her than watching her stand in the goal and keep trying even with tears running down her cheeks. Kept trying, even when the rest of the team pretty well gave up. That was a rough game, but she never quit. I've watched her play through smiles and cheers, and watched her play through tears. Beauty of sports. Beauty of life.
