And NIL isn't tied to any real market either. Most deals for NIL in all other makrets like Youtube, Insta, Twitter, TV commercials and other promos are tied to an actual market rate that is known in the industry. NIL is tied to nothing right now, other than being willing to pay more of it to get a player.
It is legal pay for play, and they need to figure out how to properly get it moored to an actual market because ain't no 18 year freshman college player worth what some of them are getting. The amounts are more than some well known pro athletes are getting, and that is why NIL has real issues.
NCAA Needs to commission a study on what known NFL and pro athletes make on NIL type deals to figure out a realistic market. Then let it happen within those reasonable guidelines.
