Insurance question - smoke damage from neighbor's fire
The townhome connected to mine caught on fire last week. Thankfully the flames didn't really spread to our unit, but our whole house filled with smoke.
I talked to my insurance this morning and smoke mitigation is covered. The only thing is that there's a $1,000 deductible. Do I have any way to recoup that $1,000? Probably wouldn't be willing to sue the neighbor. Could I file a separate claim with their insurance to recoup that?
