I have a Chase Sapphire Reserve card. Have for maybe 4 years. Find I don't really use the online redemption 1.5:1 exchange much (maybe only 1-2x in that time). I don't use the Global re-entry or pre-check (cause I'm rarely on my own and the rest of my travel party doesn't have it). I end up transferring lots of the points I get to SW (I have a perpetual companion pass) cause I can fly free that way pretty much whenever.
Here's my question. I'm thinking of dropping it and getting a new Chase Sapphire Preferred card. I know that's only 1.25:1 exchange, but the annual fee nets out lower (taking into account he $300 back on the Reserve for travel), there is still no foreign transaction fee, and I get a new 80K point or whatever sign on bonus. Any reason I SHOULDN'T drop the Reserve card?
