depends on how bad everything else is
I know there are a number of people who think that everything resolves around recovery from the pandemic and once all that sorts out things will get back to normal. And looking at gas and some other commodities they may be correct. But now with the commodity issues created by not trading with Russia, maybe future issues with China, China not able to manage their pandemic response very well, it's kind of up in the air how much this is going to affect our economy. Recessions are not really great for business, which means unemployment, less demand, and due to inflation, we're going to be dealing with much higher interest rates. This isn't some bad dream we're just going to wake up and realize is over and everything back to normal. It's going to take time to dig out of it. In the meantime, many of these "Equity holders" could lose jobs and now they don't qualify for the equity in their homes, it's locked away. They miss any payments on credit cards, good luck having a bank find a loan for you. Oh, we'll I'll sell my home now, thanks to much higher interest rates no one is interested in buying your home at the price you want to sell it at to get that equity. It's not as easy as some make it sound.
