We periodically have discussions about the loudest games at LES
I think all the big games were probably equally as loud, but we remember the moments differently. It might be the part of the stadium we are in, or the people around us, or the meaning of the game to us.

The only argument I can make is LES used to have more seats, so you'd think games would register a bit louder back in the day. There were several thousand more voices in the stands in the 80s and 90s.

Take any of the big moments--Miami, Staley, A&M, Air Force--even Utah last fall--they were probably all about as celebratory and raucus as you can get. But we have different memories and perspectives.

My memory is that Miami was loudest, but also Miami stands out to me as the best win, and most magical win, in LES history and that has stuck with me. I also happened to be sitting just outside a large area of students who were going bezerk the entire game. So my brain says "loudest."

The A&M game--I was just home from my mission and was sitting next to a bunch of rando fans up in the SW corner. It was very loud for sure, but for me it didn't match Miami--but I bet you it would have if I were down closer to the field. Same goes for some of the other games that get mentioned.

Loud is loud. I don't think our fans have an extra switch to go from delirium to even more delirium. Screaming is screaming. The good thing is that BYU has had lots of really loud games. So many great memories.

2001 Utah, or 2015 BSU might be the loudest reactionary moment in LES and the loudest overall. But Arizona State 2021 (BlueVU, May 20, 2022 at 11:47am)
