I generally rotate cars out before they hit 100k miles. Because I’m in the car biz I’m typically able to actually make money or at least not lose money on most of my vehicles. The sweet spot to avoid depreciation is buying 4-5 year old cars and driving them a couple years and selling before the miles get too high.

I’ve found that many luxury type cars tend to held their value best as used cars. Not the case if buying new though. That’s where you get the biggest value hit.
