Son is turning 16 and has wanted a jeep Cherokee for awhile now. One of my employees is selling his that is in pretty good shape inside, but the paint is chipping badly on the sides, and the hood and roof are badly faded. With a paint job, this could be a pretty good looking car for a decent price compared to what I'm seeing out there.

Are there different levels of paint jobs? Like do some places just spray paint over the top? Obviously this wouldn't do much good if the paint is chipping underneath. Would need the old stuff stripped off.

Never gone through this process. What's typical?
