training before joining the military. And I'm not saying "all" military docs have poor skills, but some sure do. A T-38 flight commander I knew at Reese AFB in the 90s told me the AF docs misdiagnosed his wife's cancer until it was too late. Another AF friend of mine had a dad who was an AF O-6. My friend, TJ, told me that his dad made all the kids promise that if any family member ever needed serious medical attention to jump in the car and drive to the nearest hospital OFF base. My own experience dealing with AF medical attention over a 24 yr career was often less than effective.
