If someone is “taking” your spot you have options. Your kid can move schools to compete. This isn’t about being fair and waiting your time it is about earning it.

Also a kid that leaves (making it up) Hillcrest for Corner Canyon just opened a spot for a kid at Hillcrest. If your son/daughter loses their spot at a school there are options to move vs just being stuck. Ability to choose your school leaves options for all kids.

There are massive negatives to open boundaries and huge positives. It all comes a bit down to luck (kid being in the right place at the right time, their grade, their school etc). Many don’t want to move schools, I get it, but there are options.

I would hate being a HS coach, it would be maddening to lose kids to CC.
