AF wins XC and Track all the time taking PG kids
PG kids take AF and LP kids for their soccer championships.

Lone Peak takes AF kids for football,

And Corner Canyon from Roy, Lehi, etc..

I'll give you an exact situation in terms of XC/Track

The Clingers (Casey and his brother) both live in the PG boundary, in fact right in the middle of it.
There were also a couple other guys on their team who lived well within the PG boundary. The PG
coach won a 6A title for XC with his girls team, but AF boys benefited with those 3 guys who should
have run for PG boys in 2016-2019. PG boys would have probably won the title the same year their
girls won.

Now I know this situation, all 3 were not recruited but their parents pushed their kids to go to AF.
Why? Because of the championships that Timmo and his teams had won the previous years. They
also thought their kids would have a better chance of getting college schollies going that route. The
reality is if you run a fast enough time you are going to be recruited, my son was on the PG team and
was not as good as the Clingers but better than the other guy living in the PG boundaries, and now
has a schollie at a D1 due to working hard through a JC route. So I know what is going on with these
games parents and kids play to get at the school they want for sports.

This happens as well though where it benefits PG as well. Soccer coach has built a great program and
he's been able to draw some ringers to his program from the AF and Lone Peak boundaries as well.

The problem is this really hurts the local programs losing the kids that live in the boundaries. Is the
AF coach in track is better than the PG coach, sure, but the PG coach isn't that bad either. And he's
probably going to be the coach at AF someday when the current coach retires. So much of this is
just perception and not necessarily reality with some of these kids and their parents.

So I guess if you want to argue should we all be able to make the choices and decisions we want in life.
Okay, I see your point. But there should be some type of penalty to programs that recruit or to the
parents and kids who game the system to go to school in area's they don't live. Some type of sit-out
where they are not allowed to compete for a short period of time, not the full year, but I'd suggest a few
games or 90-120 time period they have to sit out before they can compete.
