sure what you can do about it.
I'm sensitive to the criticism, I know. We DON'T live in Utah County but my kid doesn't go to the school he is "supposed to." it wasn't a decision we took lightly. I grew up in an area that was completely shut down to transfers and so i grew up thinking it was cheating.
But when my son asked me in 8th grade how he could reach the goal of playing college football, I had to look at the realities. He was playing WR and there are NO Qbs coming up even close to his age that have much promise. Our area just doesn't produce them. Their varsity ended up throwing 1 (one) TD pass ALL SEASON this year. (you can guess how many wins they had with that stat) Last year, they threw 5. And, honestly, there aren't' THAT many kids leaving the area so it's not JUST because kids transfer. How is that a good experience for my son?
Selfish to leave, maybe. But there was an option to do it, so we did it. He didn't go to a superteam. He is playing for a school that competes with good teams and gets colleges out to look at kids. Will he ever play D1 football? honestly, sort of doubt it. I'm learning now how rare those kids are. But he likely had ZERO chance of making that happen at "his" school. Now, he has a shot.
