In fall 85 my Freshman year at BYU I lived in Deseret Tower (Now torn down 8 story dorms that surrounded the Morris Center off of 900 E & Cougar Field. Well started off the year by getting a job as a janitor in the Canon Building. Cleaned Professor offices and bathrooms. My trainer was excited to emphasize that one particular office was special. It had an oversized portrait 9x13 or 12x16 (much too large for the desk in a very small office) of a very attractive woman. It was Carol Nikita the then very young KSL newscaster. Apparently at the time she was married to a BYU professor and he was quite proud. Being from AZ I had no idea who she was and as a student in those days we had access to 2 TVs, one in the basement of our dorm, Q-Hall and the other a projection system in the Morris Center. No one was going to be watching the news.
So I dusted her portrait a few times during my short tenure.
Edited: yes I bowed to public pressure. I would have gotten her name correct if it was Makita. 🙂
