I worked the 'Assignment Desk' which is where all the Police scanners and traffic cam monitors, etc. were located. By that time there was a gym in the Triad center and Dick would come into the news room after a workout exactly the same way with a towel around his neck and lean on the counter of the 'Desk' just like you described.

Carol and Deannie Wimmer were my favorite Anchors. When I first started Deannie was a reporter but she'd moved to Anchoring by the time I left.

Carol was a very smart woman. She knew she was aging out of anchoring so when she heard Duane Cardall was retiring she angled for the Religion Specialist job which kept her employed for another couple of decades.
