I've always wondered about something like this re: liability. Would the neighbor
's homeowner insurance policy cover her for the liability of her dog? I don't think it would - they've never asked me if I have a dog or anything - but curious if anyone else knows.
She could have an umbrella policy that I know would cover but most people don't have that.
She has a duty to control her dog and is liable for damages it causes. Those damages are more than just medical costs, there's a multiplier based on how extensive the injuries were, the impact it has, time spent to take care of the medical issues, recovery time, etc.
