I don’t doubt that a Pyrenees trained to independently protect a flock of sheep
can be intimidating. And they say for one to be the most effective in that role, you should raise them with the kind of animal you want them to protect to develop that bond and minimize exposure to humans. So basically, do the opposite of what you want to do to raise a properly socialized dog. But even then, while they are known to kill predators, they usually only do so as a last resort, for example a coyote actually attacking the sheep. They usually try to stay between the threat and what it is protecting and bark. Here is one article talking about such behavior. It seems like just about every time you hear about a Pyrenees biting a person, it is always a Pyrenees mix. As is the case here.
