I was about a hundred yards away and saw a silver fox exit a horse pasture, cross the asphalt bike path I was running on, and hid in the grass strip between the road & the path. Not wanting to have a confrontation and honestly I’ve had 2 dogs charge me in the last 2 weeks, I started making some noise. I whistled first, no reaction. I clapped my hands and the fox came out to the path and just stared at me. I slowed to a walk waved my arms and the fox just stared. Finally as I got closer it headed back into the pasture among a couple of horses. I’ve seen the fox around but I think it’s just gotten so accustomed to people that it’s not scared anymore.
Still got my slow 5 miles in.
