I used to always drive through the night from SoCal to Utah. Then one trip all
That changed.

We have 4 kids and about eight years ago when going back to Utah for Christmas we decided to drive through the night out of necessity to beat a forecasted snow storm in Cedar City that was going to shut down I-15 and make us miss Christmas with our family. We usually always left really early in the morning at like 4:30 am. But this time we left SoCal at 8pm and I powered through a 10.5 hour drive on Red Bull. My kids slept the whole time and there was NO traffic. I listened to podcasts and had total peace and silence. I loved it and it became the new normal for the next several years.

Then about a year ago when driving somewhere near Cedar City in the middle of the night doing 85 with my family all asleep I had a really close call with a deer that came out of NOWHERE. It made me realize how close I came to potentially killing my family. No more night drives.

Plus my kids are older now and not annoying on drives. Long drives with young kids/babies are the worst🥴
