Do big plays hurt you worse? Or do long drives that tire out the defensive players hurt you worse?
I'd be curious as to the data - what is more indicative of winning versus losing, the number of explosive plays or the number of drives of 10 plays or more.
Frankly - either seems like a loser proposition. Can't give up the explosive plays, but can't give up long drives either. Bronco used to say that if your force the offense to go the length of the field, chances are they'll make a mistake at some point and end the drive. But it sure seems like BYU "forced" a lot of long drawn-out drives last year.
