I figure I've got absolutely no control over who BYU's DC is. So I can do my best to enjoy the games, or I can spend all my time being upset about the coaches and perceived mistakes they are making.
Sports is entertainment for me. If all it does is makes me upset, and keeps me upset between games and even during the offseason due to me deciding to focus on a coach I've decided is horrible - then that's not the kind of entertainment I'm looking for.
Sure - winning is better than losing. And sure - some coaches and coaching decisions make it more likely for you to lose than win (or at least it seems that way). But if I'm going to waste my time with sports - I'm going to waste it while being optimistic and hoping for the best.
