USF was 2-10 last year. Teams like Tulane and ECU held them to fewer points.
We gave up drives of:
12 plays
13 plays
14 plays
19 plays.
That was in a single game! To 2-10 USF.
49 pts to UVA.
A 13 play, opening game drive to Georgia Southern. They went 3-9 last year, with a lot of bad offense to show for it. First time starter at QB that game, and he had them within 3 pts at the half. Unranked AppSt held them to 3 pts the very next week.
4-8 SoCal had drives of 14, 12, and 13 plays in the second half as they came back and took the lead.
Spare me the 2020 season. Plenty of bad defensive stats from that season, too, and that was almost entirely against bad teams.

So we lost to the Big12 champs on the road and our offense crapped its pants vs Boise. Is that really a strong argument?
