Absolutely agree. The offense and special teams all played a big role in the Boise St loss last year.
It's just the defense is the way, way behind the offense right now and there is no excuse for that.
Tuiaki has be our DC for 6 yrs now and has not improved the defense at all in that time. In fact, it's gotten worse since Bronco's tenure. I might give him more of a pass except I know BYU can field a very good defense.
The offense, otoh, practically hit rock bottom after 2 yrs with Detmer and his staff. Then, transitioned to Grimes and then, Roderick. Three OCs and is looking really solid in every area.
IMO, the defense is the area Kalani needs to improve the most going into B12 play, but Tuiaki has proven in 6 yrs that he can't get that done. He seems content to coast. I don't have any hope that he can improve things. No excuses. It's time to move on.
