If they are scoring on a majority of their drives, it makes no difference. Well,
strike that. It does make a difference. Letting an opposing offense hog the ball for nearly entire quarters of a game means your offense is sitting cold on the sideline, always having to come out and face an extremely fresh opposing defense.

Letting opposing teams have 12 to 19 play drives on a routine basis is bad. There is no possible way to spin it as good. It is bad. You are icing your own offense, keeping their defense fresh, and forcing your defense to play extremely tired, which is when a majority of injuries happen.
