I find it a little embarrassing that people are trying to equate USU to Utah.
BYU and Utah are the primary rival for each other. Utah dropping BYU was weak. If BYU drops Utah from future schedules that will also be weak. I wish the Big 12 was only going to eight conference games instead of nine, in large part so we could continue to schedule Utah every year.
Yes, BYU vs USU is a game that has a ton of tradition and should still be played on occasion but that will be only a few times a decade and all or almost all of them will be in Provo. The deal Utah gave USU will be very similar to the deal we will offer. You can come to Salt Lake/Provo but we aren't going there.
