The B1G doesn’t need Utah. The other examples you listed were conferences looking for stability
The B1G doesn’t need to worry about stability, they are completely safe. All they need to worry about is keeping up with the SEC, so all they’re going to do now is add teams that bring more money. Utah doesn’t.

Why would Big Ten be willing to lose money in order to invite Utah. Utah doesn't make the pie bigger

Killing off the ACC makes the pie bigger because it gets rid of that TV deal and there's more money to spread around
