The Big 12 would automatically send the Pac 12 into free fall by inviting ASU, AZ, CU, and Utah. Why? Because that would drop the PAC below the 7 school minimum required to be a conference per NCAA rules. That leaves WA and Oregon the option of either adding 4-6 MW schools - further devaluing the conference, or jumping ship. ND might take some time to make its mind up about the B1G, so the Big 12 can use that to its advantage.
