He says he talked to someone in the AD's office at WSU this morning. The person described the situation as 'pure panic'. They simply don't have any good options short of begging the PAC to stay together OR begging the Big 12 to talk to them.

So far the Big 12 hasn't even cordially returned phone calls or emails. WSU (and probably Oregon State) are non-starters for the Big 12.

That could change of course, but right now things look pretty desperate for Wazzu and Oregon State if the 4 teams everyone is talking about (UU, ASU, UA, CU) leave the PAC, and if Oregon and Washington follow to either the Big 12 or the Big 10.

(Me talking now, not him), but it seems likely that Cal/Stanford find a home somewhere OR don't care to find a big time home. Wazzu and Oregon State are the ones that are gonna get left behind.
