Let’s say because of the additions the Big 12 schools can end up getting $60-70 million per school projected out over the next 15 years. The $30 million gap between that and an SEC team could be bridged by wealthy donors of a Big 12 school (like Phil Knight or Oil Barons in Texas). But you are right. At some point, there is a saturation that produces excess cash. Now the B1G might spend that on its research endeavors, but would the Big 12 need to? If it only really requires $70 million to run a top not notch athletic department, then would the competition level divide really be that substantial?
