Can't think ASU would want UA in. I don't know much about how these things really work, but the inmates are now running the prison and everyone has a sharpened toothbrush handle shiv. This could kill their rival school: if that's what they want to do. Also UA offers nothing, but some decent bball, baseball, and softball.

I am not sure Stanford would want in on the second most conservative conference in the nation. For that matter, I can't think that Oregon, Washington, or Colorado would want in as well, except to save their schools with the cash cow of football. Super liberal universities in a fairly conservative conference with BYU, Baylor, etc., that might be dicey.

It might not be in Baylor or BYU's best interest to have the super liberal schools in there, but if you are going to shoot across the bow first, better to take ASU, Washington, Oregon, and Stanford/Colorado (despite what I just said) because they are better positioned to strengthen the conference.

Utah is a good brand, but one that deserves to sleep in the bed it has been making for the last 20 years of ugly hate. It would be poetic justice if there were left out and had to move back to the MWC. It is clear that it is not in BYU's best interest to be conference mates with Utah.
