Think of it this way. If the value of the P10 (w/o USC/UCLA) was $250m 8 years
ago, it is not out of the realm of possibility that the same group of teams is now worth $400m which puts them close to the current number with two fewer mouths to feed and close to the new B12’s projected number of 42.4m per team.
That may not be true, but it also could be.
Even if it isn’t, they still have to know what their value is when deciding to jump ship (or not) to the B12.
