The only reason people watch sub par football (what CFB is) is because of the broad tie to alma maters
and local communities and how games affect their teams chances. You remove over half the teams and it will fall flat on its face.

Will it though? I hate it for all those reasons, but the NFL does pretty well despite not having teams everywhere
