Everyone knows that the reason the Pac-12 is pushing to open TV negotiations right now is to get Oregon & Washington locked into a new grant of rights before they get an offer to join the B1G. Staples thinks the B12 should offer them spots in the conference without the need to sign anything. Basically saying "We'll be happy to have you for as long as we can get you and will wish you well when & if a bigger opportunity comes along." Basically the B12 would kill the P12 by being flexible and taking what it can get. Because once Oregon & Washington leave the P12, that conference is done in terms of having upper tier teams. And if Oregon & Washington leave, the Big 12 will have its pick of the remaining Pac 12 programs.
