Let's not even implicitly compare the US & Russian justice systems. I've spent
my entire career in the US justice system. From everything I have read, the Russian "justice" system is a cruel joke:
No public trials, defendants often behind bars for the trial, reading unsubstantiated allegations into evidence instead of questioning witnesses, etc.
