sticky issue, but long story short some family of mine had a very negative run in with a trespasser (sexual assault on a minor, and battery on an adult) while staying at a time-share this summer.
After complaints by the family and reports/interviews with police, the owners of the timeshare have offered to make amends (still yet to be seen what that will be - monetary compensation/free stays/refunds etc), but the family may get an attorney just to make sure they don't get a dime when they should get a dollar.
Has anyone ever dealt with a situation similar to this (either as a guest or as a hospitality employee) where guests encountered a trespasser while on hotel property? What kind of liability does the timeshare hold in a situation like this?
