Leave a team that would have made a run in the tournament parlaying him to an actual chance in the NBA for a European team that is frankly equivalent to 1990s Kia Rio.
I generally have no problem when players leave early but his circumstance was a straight up middle finger to the BYU team for a Kia … while coaches and players could have made a run in to tourney but were left with a turd season or two and then they treated the situation with 100x more class than he deserved.
A friend of mine played for UNC and went to Europe, after hearing about his experience and then seeing how much potential he really had, for himself not just for the team it just frustrates me that people want to justify his decision for that.
I mean players signed with byu TO PLAY WITH HIM, but never did because he wanted to go early after a lame pointless career in Italy. This just shows how much potential he truly squandered.
Most players who leave early do it way better than he did,
