Not the worst play call, just not the play you call in that situation.
:25 on the clock, 2nd down on the 1, Marshawn in the backfield, and a timeout in your pocket in the biggest game of the year? They had all the momentum too. Just stick to what was working and get the TD. They got cute and it bit them in the butt.
It’s easy to look back on the play and know that it was a bad call but even if it worked I think questions about why you wouldn’t go with the sure hand and give it to Marshawn would’ve been asked. Too much risk in that situation.
