We did it when we built the house. So maybe there are other costs to retrofit. But if i remember correctly it was only an extra $500 bucks or something we paid the electrician to wire it in. And we live rurally so we already had a 1,000 gallon propane tank and it wasn’t much for them to just run it to the generator. We had everything wired to for backup except the hot tub.
