No, it just means that the ice wasn't as cold or wasn't as dense. Which, either
way, means that it has less total cooling capacity. Another way to think of it is how much heat from your drink is required to heat and melt the ice. Preferably, the ice is much colder than freezing which would require more energy to heat it to the melting point and your drink would be colder and not watered down.
