CB green thumbs - how hard is it to successfully transplant a tree from up in
the hills down to my house? Is there a good time of year to do this as well?
I'm wanting to put 5-6 Aspen's in my backyard, and rather than spend a chunk of change to buy nursery trees I'd rather make it a fun excuse to head to the hills with my kids and bring some home.
For reference, I live at 5k feet ASL and plan to bring trees down from about 7500 feet ASL. Aspen's seem to do well around town.
