Altruism from an evolutionary biology perspective
Is slightly different. It's the idea of you sacrificing your own resources to help another. Sure, you might not care about your cousins, but you'd help if they asked. For evolutionary theory, this is more thinking about animals and why they risk themselves to help the tribe. As a human, you may have some individualism but what we're discussing here is really applying evolutionary principles on a population level.
