The way the polls come out from the beginning before a game is even played is one of the great unequalizers in College Football. Two teams can have identical resumes at the end of the year and because one started in the preseason polls ranked 5 and the other team ranked 23, one team is playing in the playoff the other is not.

If you are happy that we have something to prove and that we are underanked and we will shock the world.. it really represents the large hole teams have to dig themselves out of. Or how much leighway and privilege other teams have. For instance Alabama can be 0-3 and will still be in the top 25. What a poor system.

My suggestion would be to keep the final rankings the year prior as the preseason rankings for the next year. That way it means something. Not perfect but way better than speculation.ake teams prove they are good or bad. Also, I'm pumped for BYU football baby!
