I don't want to be a downer, and I am sure your niece will be just fine, but my younger brother was diagnosed with juvenile epilepsy when he was 14, he passed away from SUDEP 18mo ago today.

Sounds like me. I had seizures until I was 11. 20 years later and I haven't had any since.

We have a daughter who had epilepsy-like seizures when she was young. Freaked us out when it happened the first time.

My daughter had one at about age 8. Nothing since 30 years later
