rather, why do we care about this Pharisaical crap either way? I love BYU, and I love BYU football, but I'm shocked the "higher law" of the honor code has lasted as long as it has. It's insane. Making students sign a written agreement that they'll live the standards of the church is one thing, but what the "honor code" has evolved into is insanity. It's the most self-righteous example of modern day written law pharisaical nonsense, and I'm shocked no one else sees the parallels. There's nothing Christlike about it... It's not rooted in pure basic gospel principles, and it doesn't lift people up. I mean, the fact that BYU had the BYU police colluding and coordinating with the honor code office like they were their own personal Gestapo should tell you EVERYTHING that's wrong with what the honor code is today.
