A lot of the voters end up picking teams within their conference, so BYU is typically going to get a little less love as an indy in preseason, until they can stack up some wins.

I don't mind the reduced hype. It should help to keep the team focused. It may slightly bias the end of season results, but in order to make any real noise BYU needs to go 11-1 or 12-0, which is incredibly hard to do, so I am not too concerned. I mostly want our guys to stay healthy and ball out.

Go beat South Florida/Baylor/Oregon and they will be in a really strong position and highly ranked. Can't really deny them a top 10 ranking if they pulled off those first 3 games.
